Public Records by State and County (Nationwide)
Public records - information that has been filed or recorded by local, state, federal or other government agencies, such as corporate and property records.
Public records are created by the federal and/or local government, (vital records, immigration records, real estate records, driving records, criminal records, etc.) or by individuals (subscriptions, voter registration, etc.).
Public records are maintained by the government and many are accessible online free-of-charge or for a small administrative fee. Availability is subject to federal, state, and local regulations.
Public records are held in hard copy but many public records are available via the Internet or private/company databases. Public records are indeed "public" but their accessibility is not always simple, free or easy.
Most businesses offering access to databases specialize in something particular but a few do offer all sorts of available records to professionals in the legal, risk management, corporate, government, law enforcement, accounting and academic markets.
Certain unscrupulous companies (Scammers) sell software with a promise of unlimited access to public records, but they generally provide nothing more than just basic information on how to access already available and generally free public Websites.
There are a few reputable companies like ARCHIVES that offer vast (accurate) amounts of information for a small fee.
